Repurposed Surfboard for Surfboard Art Festival

Here's the beginnings of a work of art from a used surfboard that was given to me for the upcoming Art Festival in Morro Bay. I've sanded it back and removed the stickers on it so the paint will stick well. The faux wood grain is made up of 2 stringers of Brazilian Rosewood and 3 of maple. I still have no idea what I'm going to paint on it, but all I know is it needs to be done by Oct. 18 for the reception at the Forever Stoked Gallery.
